Regent Reveal Innovative Audio System for ToursRegent Seven Seas Cruises have announced plans to launch an innovative headphone system, which will allow cruisers on excursions and tours to hear their tour guides more clearly. The system will be carried on Regent’s cruise ships and used at tourist spots such as religious and historic grounds where loud speaking is not allowed. “Having our own system allows us to use it across a wide spectrum of Regent shore excursions and gives us the flexibility to provide our guests with enlightening information and commentary at all times,” said Dairus Mehta, Director of Land Programs for Regent. “The system represents another first for The Regent Travel Concierge, giving our guides an intimate and effective way to provide key details to guests as they tour historic landmarks.” The system uses a small microphone worn by the guide, who can then speak straight to guests wearing lightweight headphones. These headsets are packaged individually and are designed as being disposable so that each guest will get a new, clean headset each time. It will debut on cruises during June 2008 to Europe and the Baltic aboard Seven Seas Voyager and Seven Seas Navigator, in addition to the Grand Asia Pacific cruise on Seven Seas Mariner. |
